Health Policy

The health and well-being of all of our guests is of the utmost priority to us. Because of this, we ask that all owners pay careful attention to follow our health policy.

If your pet has experienced a change in health since their last stay please notify our staff upon check in.

In order to protect our guests from illness, we require that all pets are current on the following vaccines:

  • Dogs:

    • Rabies

    • Canine Distemper Combination

    • Bordetella

    • H3N8 and H3N2 Canine Influenza*

  • Feline:

    • Rabies

    • Feline Distemper Combination

Guests must also be free of the following:

  • Contagious disease

  • Fleas and ticks

  • Parasites

If it is determined during the stay that a pet is showing signs of illness or parasites it will be quarantined separately in our facility and examined by our house veterinarian for the safety of the other guests. In the event that treatment is required, we will contact the owner or provided emergency contact as well as the guests personal veterinarian, if requested.

If it is determined that a pet has fleas and/or ticks, he or she will be treated in order to prevent other pets in the facility from contracting them as well.

Please note that owners will be responsible for any charges relating to illness and/or parasites.

*We believe in being proactive regarding the health and well-being of your pets. Due to cases of Canine Influenza in the United States, including Missouri and Illinois, we require that all dogs be vaccinated for both strains of Canine Influenza (H3N2 and H3N8). Please note, the Canine Influenza vaccine may not 100% prevent infection but will greatly reduce the severity of symptoms and shorten the shedding interval (i.e. vaccinated dogs that become infected have less illness and are not as contagious to other dogs).
