In order to maintain a healthy and sanitary environment for your pet, we require that all pets are current for the following vaccines:
- Canine: Canine Distemper Combination, Rabies, Bordetella, Canine Influenza (H3N8), *Canine Influenza (H3N2)
- Feline: Feline Distemper Combination, Rabies
*We believe in being proactive regarding the health and well-being of your pets. Due to the recent increase in Canine Influenza (H3N2) cases in over 25 states, most importantly the recent cases in Missouri and Illinois, we are recommending that all dogs be vaccinated for Canine Influenza (H3N2). As such we are requiring all dogs staying at our facility to have begun their Canine Influenza (H3N2) vaccination protocol effective May 1, 2016. Any dogs that have not begun this protocol before their stay at our facility will be given their first Canine Influenza (H3N2) vaccination by our house vet immediately upon arrival.
Note: the vaccine may not 100% prevent infection but it will greatly reduce the severity of symptoms and shorten the shedding interval i.e. vaccinated dogs that become infected have less illness and are not as contagious to other dogs.
Owners must present proof of vaccination upon check-in, although we will gladly phone your veterinarian while you wait, if requested.
Guests must be free of any contagious disease and free from fleas and ticks. If it is determined during the stay that the guest is showing signs of disease the guest will be quarantined in our facility and examined by our house veterinarian for the safety of the other guests in our facility. In the event that treatment is required, we will first contact the owner and then the guests personal veterinarian, if requested.
If it is determined that the guest is infested with fleas and/or ticks, the guest will be treated in order to prevent other pets in the facility from becoming infested.
The owner will be responsible for any charges relating to illness and/or infestation.
We are happy to explain why these requirements are in the best interest of your pet and others that visit our facility.
